Mt. Juliet Trivia |
What year was Mt. Juliet officially incorporated as a city? Keep your guess in mind — the answer is at the bottom of this issue. |
Mt. Juliet 7-Day Weather |
Outlook: Mostly sunny and comfortable through the workweek, with warmer afternoons into Saturday. Weekend details are farther out and may change. Forecast checked October 4, 2026. Sources: National Weather Service Nashville and extended local forecast data. Recheck before outdoor plans. |
Mt. Juliet’s Planning and Zoning Department now offers a self-service portal for permits and project submissions, giving residents and applicants another way to handle planning business online. The department’s work covers zoning, annexation, site plans, subdivisions, signs, home occupations, planned developments and temporary or special-event permits.
The portal is especially useful when paired with the city’s Development Tracker and GIS resources, which help residents look up parcels, zoning, future land use, transportation information, flood areas and other local data.
The city also maintains public calendars and application materials for Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals activity, making it easier to follow projects as they move through review. Residents should also note a current city warning about planning and zoning scams.
The city says legitimate payments are made in person or through its official portal and that staff will not demand wire transfers.
Residents tracking a nearby project can get better answers by starting with the property record, then checking agendas or hearing notices when formal review is involved. Having a specific parcel or project reference also makes follow-up with planning staff more productive.
For people trying to understand growth around Mt. Juliet, these tools provide a practical first stop before contacting planning staff or attending a public meeting. Read More... |
The Mt. Juliet Help Center provides a local safety net for eligible households in west Wilson County facing short-term financial hardship. Current services include client-choice groceries and hygiene products, limited emergency utility assistance and free clothing for residents in the service area from Highway 109 to the Davidson County line.
Eligible households may receive grocery and hygiene assistance up to twelve times per year, with visits spaced at least one month apart and recent proof of address required for each adult. Emergency utility help may be available for qualifying past-due electric, natural gas, water or sewer bills when service is at risk.
The center is located at 3425B N. Mt. Juliet Road and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Help Center is also taking signups for a 2026 Thanksgiving meal-box program for qualifying households, with an October 14 deadline listed on its assistance page. The nonprofit’s role is to bridge temporary gaps rather than replace long-term assistance.
It also relies on donations, volunteers and community support. Households outside the stated service area should still ask about referrals or other Wilson County resources.
Residents seeking help or planning to donate should confirm current requirements and needs directly with the organization before visiting. Read More... |
Providence Marketplace continues to evolve, with Havertys Furniture listed as open and BodyRok Pilates listed as coming soon at the Mt. Juliet shopping center. Located at 401 S. Mt. Juliet Road, Providence remains one of the city’s busiest retail and dining areas, with a mix of national stores, restaurants, personal services, entertainment and wellness businesses.
Havertys adds another home-furnishings option, while BodyRok represents the growing fitness and wellness presence in suburban retail centers. The practical value for residents is knowing which changes are confirmed.
Providence’s official directory identifies current tenants and flags businesses that are coming soon or now open.
Individual store, restaurant and service hours vary, so shoppers should check directly with a specific business before making a special trip. Providence is also useful to watch as a broader retail indicator.
The mix of fitness, wellness, home and service concepts can show how the center is adapting to changing shopping habits, but residents should still rely on confirmed tenant announcements rather than storefront rumors. Around Mount Juliet will continue tracking meaningful openings, closures and redevelopment at Providence while also covering independent businesses across the rest of the city.
For now, Havertys is part of the current lineup and BodyRok remains an announced upcoming addition. Read More... |
