Wilson County early voting ends Thursday, October 29, ahead of the November 3 election. Mount Juliet residents can prepare by checking the county’s official schedule, reviewing identification requirements and reading the sample ballot before leaving home.
The county handbook lists four early-voting sites, including the Mt. Juliet Community Center at 1075 Charlie Daniels Parkway. Registered county voters can use any listed early-voting location. Administrative office hours should not be confused with voting hours.
Bring acceptable Tennessee or federally issued photo identification. The county’s Photo ID Law page explains accepted documents, exceptions and provisional-voting information. Contact election staff if your identification or registration information raises a question.
Read the official sample ballot for the contests relevant to your residence. Municipal boundaries affect eligibility for city contests; a mailing address alone is not enough to establish which questions apply.
Election Day remains an alternative for voters who miss early voting. The county lists November 3 vote-center hours as 7 a.m.–7 p.m. and explicitly allows voters to choose any listed Wilson County vote center.
Review the official pages before your trip and save the Election Commission’s number, 615-444-0216. AMJ’s city-resources guide provides additional local context, while election staff remain the source for individual voting questions. Read More... |
Mount Juliet voters face a home rule repeal question in the November 3 election. The certified city ordinance asks whether the municipality should repeal its adoption of home rule. A yes response supports repeal; a no response opposes it.
The University of Tennessee’s Municipal Technical Advisory Service explains that home rule allows cities to adopt and change their charters through local referendums. General state laws still apply, while private acts specifically applying to a home rule city are prohibited.
The city ordinance describes a proposed return to a general-law city manager-commission charter, retaining two provisions approved by voters in 2010 and 2012. It identifies January 4, 2027, as the effective date if repeal occurs.
Residents should distinguish the referendum itself from predictions about later development or revenue measures. The ordinance discusses potential future private acts; that rationale does not establish that a particular follow-up policy has already become law.
Check the Election Commission’s sample ballot and your registration information to determine which city contests apply. Early voting ends October 29, and Election Day is November 3.
Read the certified question and MTAS guidance before deciding. AMJ’s City Commission participation guide offers context on following local government, with its meeting references clearly tied to October 26. Read More... |
Halloween week in Mount Juliet offers three different family outings for October 29–31: a school trunk-or-treat, a morning of stories at the orchard and a Halloween race. All times are local Central time.
Mt. Juliet High School’s calendar lists its October 29 activity. The Band of Gold announcement confirms 5–7:30 p.m. The school is at 1875 Golden Bear Gateway; confirm admission, entrance and parking instructions with the school.
Breeden’s Orchard lists Story Time on October 30 from 10–11 a.m. at 631 Beckwith Road. The organizer’s registration page specifies free admission with RSVP and limited capacity. Optional refreshments cost extra.
The Halloween 5K 4 Hope and Parkinson’s Fun Walk take place October 31 at Mt. Juliet Middle School, 3565 North Mt. Juliet Road. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m.; both activities start at 9 a.m.
The 5K is chip-timed, and the race and walk have separate registration choices. Check current prices because increases are scheduled after the research date.
Save the primary organizer links and check weather updates before leaving. For additional daytime ideas, AMJ’s Charlie Daniels Park family guide provides a separate planning resource. Choose a manageable outing and leave room for parking, breaks and changing family needs. Check each source again before your trip. Read More... |
